As the chairman of Lucia Capital Group, Ray Lucia Jr. is responsible for overseeing the firm’s financial strategy, product design, and overall vision. He prides himself on providing a work environment that fosters growth and opportunity within a family-oriented culture, and he has dedicated his professional career to creating innovative products and services with the end goal of exceeding client expectations. Ray has centered the foundation of the organization by utilizing The Bucket Strategy® to align a customized financial planning and investment philosophy with each client’s life goals and objectives.

Ray has been in the financial services business for nearly 20 years. He began his career at Deloitte and Touche, where he established a strong financial background serving as a tax accountant to corporate and high-net-worth clients. Since that time, he has held a number of positions at various firms, including investment advisor, executive vice president, and CEO.

Ray graduated from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles, California, with a B.S. in accounting. He has obtained the CPA certification and earned the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) designation from the AICPA. He holds FINRA Series 7, 24, 63, and 65 licenses as well as his California insurance license (#OE12175).

Ray is an active supporter of various local charities and organizations, including Rancho Santa Fe’s The Country Friends Organization, Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego, and St. Michael’s Church.

Ray and his wife of almost 20 years, Devin, met in elementary school and have two amazing children, Tre and Sienna. In his spare time, Ray enjoys stand-up paddle boarding, golfing, playing tennis, and watching his children play sports.

As president of Lucia Capital Group, Joe P. Lucia is responsible for the ultimate satisfaction of the firm’s financial planning and investment management clients. Joe manages the firm’s advisors focused on executing The Bucket Strategy® for their clients’ portfolios and delivering proactive, comprehensive client service. Joe is also responsible for advisor training, advisor recruiting, and the firm’s sales administration. As an experienced member of the executive management team, Joe is a key contributor to the overall strategic business direction of Lucia Capital Group.

Prior to becoming president in 2013, Joe achieved success as a financial advisor at Lucia Capital Group, providing wealth advice to some of the largest clients at the firm. Joe also has more than 25 years of sales and sales management experience, having spent the earlier part of his career as the owner and operator of a national import/wholesale company that successfully distributed goods across the United States, Puerto Rico, and Canada.

Joe graduated from Pepperdine University in 1997 with a B.S. in business administration and holds FINRA Series 7 and 66 registrations through LPL Financial as well as a California insurance license (#0E80645).

Joe and his family are active parishioners of St. Michael’s Church, where his grandparents were founding members. Joe is a member of the Pepperdine Alumni Association and enjoys giving back to the community through various charitable foundations.

He and his wife, Erica, manage three very active children: two sons and a daughter. The family, along with their dog, Vegas, enjoys busy weekends together cheering at sporting events.

Josh Hotsenpiller is a seasoned entrepreneur and strategist known for generating revenue, scaling organizations, and guiding companies through successful exits. He has raised significant capital from Insight Partners, led three software companies to exit, and built a reputation as an operator who creates platforms that drive growth and enterprise value.

As a TEDx Speaker and U.S. State Department Global Ambassador for Entrepreneurship, Josh has inspired global audiences with insights on leadership, innovation, and well-being in high-performance environments.

He has delivered enterprise-wide software solutions for HP Global, GoPro, the United Nations, and Estée Lauder, and partnered directly with executives at Visa, Unilever, Weight Watchers, among many others, on storytelling and brand positioning around values, culture, and company direction.

Today, as an Operating Partner at Stone Canyon Advisors, Josh brings these skills to empower companies to unlock maximum enterprise value and ensure irresistible exits.
